FAQ
What are the symptoms that should prompt me to consult a sleep specialist?
If you experience excessive fatigue, significant daytime sleepiness, difficulty concentrating, frequent snoring, or insomnia, it is recommended that you talk to your doctor. These symptoms may be signs of a sleep disorder. If necessary, your doctor may refer you to a specialized center such as the Cenas sleep medicine center for an in-depth consultation and tests to establish an accurate diagnosis.
How does the diagnosis and treatment process work at the Cenas Sleep Medicine Center?
The process begins with a referral request from your primary care physician. The request is then reviewed by the sleep specialist in charge. During this initial assessment, the doctor analyzes your symptoms in order to refer you for a consultation or sleep study.
The Cenas sleep medicine center offers various tests, which can be carried out either at home or at the center, depending on the complexity of your case. Once the tests have been carried out and the results analyzed, you will be offered treatment tailored to your condition, with personalized follow-up and therapy if necessary.
Why is it important to consult a doctor if you have sleep problems?
Disturbed sleep and persistent fatigue can have serious consequences for your health and daily life. Chronic sleep deprivation can lead to physical and psychological problems such as obesity, diabetes, depression, and an increased risk of accidents at work.
If you experience these symptoms, it is essential to talk to your doctor. They will be able to listen to you, guide you, and, if necessary, refer you to a sleep specialist. After this step, your doctor will need to send an external assessment form so that you can make an appointment at the Cenas sleep medicine center for a thorough evaluation and possible diagnostic testing.
