Actigraphy

Performing an actigraphy test

Actigraphy is an alternative method that provides valuable data for the diagnosis and management of sleep disorders, particularly those related to the circadian rhythm. It allows the sleep-wake cycle to be assessed over several days in real-life conditions.

Performed at home, it also allows for long-term monitoring of patients by assessing the effectiveness of treatments and the progression of sleep disorders. However, for more accurate diagnoses, particularly for detecting respiratory disorders such as apnea, actigraphy must be performed in addition to nocturnal respiratory polygraphy.

Pick up at the center

  • Wear the actigraph on your non-dominant wrist.
  • Keep it on for the duration specified by your sleep doctor.

At the end of the examination

  • Upon waking, remove the actigraph.
  • Bring it back to the Cenas center.
  • The results will be analyzed and forwarded to your physician.
